Merry Christmas 2010

Burke playing the bells in the 2nd grade Christmas program.

This Christmas was a sight to behold.  The festivities began with the 2nd grade Christmas program and Burke's class party at school followed by two snow days on December 16th and 17th to begin our already two weeks of vacation.  How funny it was to see his eyes go wide when he thought he was late for school and then watch his fear melt into pure joy at the realization of NO SCHOOL.

Now to say we played all the time is an exaggeration, but not far from it.  We did continue to read and write a little over the holiday, but that was mixed in with play dates and family gatherings.  Christmas Eve is always a busy day.  We begin with lunch with the King family followed with partaking supper with the Hedrick Family (my mom's clan).

Burke opening his presents.
Christmas Day my parents and brother come for breakfast and to watch Burke open his presents.  This year was like every year.  I had to wake Burke up at 8 AM in time to eat.  He was over the moon with excitement . . . not enough to keep him from sleeping, but enough to be overjoyed when he saw some presents under the tree.  The rest of the day was spent lounging while he played.

I'm sad to see this Christmas vacation come to an end, but hopefully 2011 will be as wonderful as 2010.  Just maybe not go as fast.
